Home Care Services in San Diego, Carlsbad & Southern California

Sometimes the support someone needs isn’t medical — it’s a helping hand with daily life. Pacific Point Home Care provides trusted, non-medical caregiving that helps seniors and adults living with illness, injury, or age-related needs stay safe, independent, and comfortable at home. Every client is matched with a dedicated Home Care Aide and overseen by an experienced Service Supervisor, so care stays personal and consistent.

What Is Home Care?

Home care is non-medical, personal support that helps individuals manage daily life safely and comfortably in their own home, rather than treating a specific medical condition. It’s a good fit for aging adults who need a hand with everyday tasks, people recovering from surgery or illness, individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, and family caregivers who need reliable, trained support to lean on.

Home care is different from home health care: home health delivers skilled medical services like nursing and therapy under a physician’s plan of care and is typically covered by Medicare, while home care focuses on personal care, safety, and companionship, provided by a trained Home Care Aide. Many of our clients use both — home health for medical needs and home care for everyday support — as one coordinated plan.

Cost / Insurance Coverage

Home care is typically private pay and is generally not covered by Medicare, since it’s non-medical support rather than a skilled medical service. That said, there are several ways families offset the cost:

  • Long-term care insurance often covers non-medical home care — we’re happy to help review your policy.
  • Medi-Cal programs, such as In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), may cover home care for qualifying individuals in California.
  • Veterans benefits, including VA Aid & Attendance, can help cover home care costs for eligible veterans and surviving spouses.
  • Medicare Advantage plans occasionally offer limited in-home support benefits, depending on the plan.

I want to give a special thanks to both Edrin, Laura and Edith, although everyone was great. Such a difficult time loosing my Mom. They supported us all the way. It takes a special kind of person to do what you all do.

Terrible start to finish after 5 days of promises and no services I wouldn't recommend them to anyone seeking an organized professional home health agency lastly the director is a very unpleasant person in My opinion

If I could give a 0-stars rating I would. Lots of promises, no delivery, no care in the world that your loved one isn’t getting the services that Medicare is paying Pacific Point to provide. They don’t have enough employees to deliver. Would advise to go elsewhere.

I was fortunate enough to have chosen Pacific Point hospice care for my mother. The care I received was above and beyond anything I thought possible. The in home health Care from Edith, the clergy, Edwin, Jenny the Social Worker, and Shawn, my case manager. Shawn was my nurse as well, he was with me every step of the way and was more than I could have hoped for. His professionalism, compassion, experience, and strength kept me calm. His ability and concern was touching, surprising and comforting to me and my family. His calming control made the journey for my mom and myself a beautiful experience. I can honestly say I love him for what he did. When my mom passed he was there helping, making calls and taking the pressure away from me. He is a gift, really. He honors the company he works for.
